Code Club 4 Teachers Native Flora and Fauna (face to face)

Oct 20, 2020 - Nov 10, 2020

Tuesdays 4.00pm to 5.30pm. Whether you are an absolute beginner or someone who has dabbled with programming and coding. Our focus is on having fun while integrating Digital Technologies into your classroom programme.

Join Amy Souquet and explore how to integrate digital technologies and computational thinking into curriculum areas and gain an understanding of the fundamentals of programming using age appropriate programming languages.

These sessions run weekly on Tuesdays from 4.00pm to 5.30pm.

  • Session 1: Tuesday 20th October
  • Session 2: Tuesday 27th October
  • Session 3: Tuesday 3rd November
  • Session 4: Tuesday 10th November

During these sessions you will be supported to create a Scratch project based around native flora and fauna. This project provides an introduction to programming using Scratch, and ideas and resources for teaching computational thinking off and online. Aimed at complete beginners, it uses native plants and animals to introduce programming concepts.

This meetup will be delivered in English however the content will be beneficial to kura Māori also. We invite all Māori Medium kaiako to attend as the skills and knowledge covered in these sessions are relevant to Māori Medium contexts.
